Covid-19 safety advisory note (dated 17th August 2020)

Following the publication on 13th August of Public Health England’s weekly surveillance report, coupled with the Government’s 31st July announcement regarding the cessation of pilot testing of business events along with the pausing of Multi team sports gatherings across Northamptonshire until further notice, we have had to take the difficult decision to make Cycle4Cynthia 2020, sponsored by EMW Law a virtual ride.

The event has supported the Hospice for 16 years and the need for that support has not gone away, so we need your support again this year. You’ll be riding the same 25-mile & 50-mile routes that you would’ve done but can join that route where you like and although Cycle4Cynthia day is Sunday 20th September you now have the flexibility to ride
when you like. Five-mile riders can take on the challenge in their own neighbourhood, in a safe environment, but still supporting the Hospice and helping to keep our services going, at a time when we are needed more than ever.

Once registered, on 1st September we’ll send you your rider number, map of your designated route and gpx codes, along with your Cycle4Cynthia medal, which has been kindly supplied by Chelton Brown Sales & Lettings. We hope you’ll ride on 20th September, but appreciate that you may choose a more convenient route and time. But the most important thing is that you still ride, still support the Hospice and still share your photos from the ride on social media, so that everyone knows what a great support you have been to our hardworking care staff and our patients.

Those already registered will be hearing from us shortly, but if you have any queries please email

Please note that we will provide GPX codes for the 50 mile and 25 mile routes for you to ride but for the 5 mile route we recommend cyclists ride a route around their own neighbourhoods.

To keep up to date with the latest developments on the event’s plans, based on government guidelines, please follow and ‘like’ the ride’s and Hospice’s page on Facebook.
