The best £100 you’ll ever spend?

The best £100 you’ll ever spend?

When you run a company, £100 doesn’t get you much these days does it? A few reams of copier paper perhaps. Maybe a new set of ink cartridges if you’re lucky.

But what it can buy you is the warmest feeling you’ll ever get from knowing you’ve supported one of Northamptonshire’s most deserving causes, not to mention some great publicity!

Ahead of March’s launch of its much-loved annual bike ride, Cycle4Cynthia, Northampton’s Cynthia Spencer Hospice is calling upon the help of the county’s business community to ensure that this, the 15th year of the biggest fundraiser in its calendar, is the best yet!

And for just £100, sponsoring one of the event’s pit stops is not only the ideal way to contribute towards the vital work of the charity but also help raise your profile.

John Helm is the hospice’s fundraising manager and says he’s hoping that local firms will come up trumps again this year: “Pulling together such a fantastic event as Cycle4Cynthia inevitably involves some costs so we’re really keen to hear from anyone who wants to help us in whatever way they can” explained John.

“Whether that’s a few pounds to ensure our riders are well fed and watered en route to one of the larger sponsorship options, it means that the money that comes in from entry fees and rider sponsorship goes directly towards providing specialist palliative care for our patients and the all-important support for their loved ones” he added.

Among those companies to pledge their continuing commitment to the cause is lettings and sales agent Chelton Brown, which will be sponsoring the riders’ medals for the third year running, though as managing director Sali Brown explains, the partnership goes back even further: “We first got involved with the ride in 2012 and each year it’s been an absolute honour to support this amazing charity” explained Sali.

“Not only is the day itself a really heart-warming experience, but also the hospice is such a wonderful place, doing immeasurable work within the community, so I’d encourage others to do their bit and be part of this fabulous fundraiser!” she enthused.

To pledge your support as a pit stop sponsor or for more information on the other sponsorship opportunities available, please call the Hospice on 01604 210941 or email fundraising@cynthiaspencer.co.uk.

Meanwhile, to keep up to date with the latest news on the event, please visit and ‘like’ the ride’s and Hospice’s page on Facebook.
Further details for Cycle4Cynthia 2018 will be revealed at the launch event at Franklin’s Gardens on Tuesday 27th March.

The evening will also see the presentation of the prizes from last year’s ride, including those for best fancy dress and largest team to take part, as well as the all-important figure of total monies raised by the 1115 cyclists who generously leapt into their saddles at Lamport Hall last September.

Riders are therefore kindly encouraged to collect any outstanding sponsorship money as quickly as possible and deliver or send it to Cynthia Spencer Hospice Fundraising, Pondwood House, Pondwood Close, Moulton Park, Northampton NN3 6RT, making cheques payable to ‘Cycle4Cynthia’.
